Divine Fest

The Inter school fest aims at providing a platform to the students to display and develop their creative, innovative and life skills which are an integral part of the holistic development of every child. This platform gives the participants an opportunity to unleash their hidden talents in the variety of genres ranging from creative skills to singing, dancing, acting and music.

 

The aim behind such events is to help students develop essential skill of public speaking and creative skills and make them not only more self-assured in this global world of expanding opportunities, but also to blossom into peak performers.

Sports Day

Sports day is an important and memorable day in a child’s life as it instills sportsmanship, excitement, competitive spirit, fellowship and physical performance.  DCIS celebrates Sports Day with full verve and vigour. The whole playground is decorated with flags, buntings and balloons a day earlier. The Chief Guest is escorted by the Principal, for the inspection of the four House contingents. The event is followed by the hoisting of the school flag. A spectacular, impressive, and a well synchronized March Past by the four Houses contingents namely Aster, Sunflower, Lotus and Rose is displayed where the Chief Guest takes the salute. Students of classes 5 to 11 compete in events including races, hurdles, relay race, sack races, long jump, high jump, discus throw, shot put, javelin throw etc. The event culminates with the Prize Distribution Ceremony.

Navratri

Navratri, a time of great festivity in India, especially in Gujarat is celebrated with gusto and enthusiasm. The main function is organized on the school ground and the entire event is organized by the Students’ Council. The fun and fete cum Dandiya celebrations are marvelously executed. The soul of the function is the school’s orchestra “The Divine Orchestra” wherein students play instruments and sing melodious traditional garba tunes for continuously 2-3 hours. There are stalls displayed by teachers and students with tasty and nutritious and sumptuous food and various games. Parents and the students show great support and make the entire event a huge success by organizing food and games stall which are a major source of attraction. The school also conducts a lucky draw with many exciting prizes for Best Costume, Best Rocking style and Performance by a Group.

Annual Day- An ensemble of great performers

This is a fast-changing world; the learning process is an everyday challenged path. Theatre, Art, Music are essential part of it. DCIS believes, learning in a theatrical setting makes learning fun.

Theatre is a cultural space where society examines itself in a mirror. Theatre day is celebrated in DCIS amidst great fervor, exuberance and jubilation. On this day, the school is abuzz with guests as the parents are enthusiastic to see their children rock the stage with colorful bonanza. It is a day when all present experience the full gamut of human emotions. The stage comes alive with a riot of colors with the performance of students of Nursery to Grade 11. The timeless values of perseverance, being respectful, patient and resilient are beautifully portrayed by the children.

Investiture Ceremony

Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality.
In order to scale the heights and reach the pinnacle of success, Divine Child International School, Ahmedabad, always strives to inculcate a sense of responsibility and commitment among the students with their heads held high, ready to shoulder responsibilities as leaders.
The Investiture Ceremony is held with great enthusiasm, earnestness, and passion. It is the occasion where the young students are all prepared to don the mantle of leadership and discharge the responsibilities entrusted to them by the school. A spirit of unity and dynamism fills the air as the Grand Ceremony commences.
To inculcate the leadership qualities in students and to give them a feel of the functioning of the administrative body, a school prefectorial board is formed after scrutinous interviewing and selection. Initially, the candidates are expected to prepare and present strong speeches in front of all the students and teachers in order to qualify for the Elections. A democratic voting procedure is set in pace which ultimately forms the school student council of the year.
The different rounds held for selection include:
Addressing the School Assembly
Public speaking on different topics
Personal Interview with Panel of Principal, Vice Principal and Coordinators and Voting to decide who becomes the School Captain
The school captain, vice-captain, house prefects, club leaders, class prefects, and the students’ Lighthouse team are conferred badges and sashes by the Principal, Vice-principal, and the Coordinators.
The newly elected student council members pledge to work earnestly and uphold the honor and glory of the institution and to bestow their duties to the best of their abilities.
With the flags held high and heads standing tall, the ceremony comes to an end.
